Where the tale begins
Our Story
Pamela and Tanner first crossed paths during an unprecedented time in human history - at the tail end of the Covid 19 pandemic. Amidst a time where large gatherings were banned, and social interactions were stifled, a desire for human connection and a continued passion for music rang true.
A mutual friend (unbeknownst to us at the time) curated a boutique electronic music festival in the picturesque mountain forest of Julian, CA, in a time before commercial festivals and nightclubs had reopened their doors. Tanner, an aspiring DJ and producer (under the Dance Armstrong moniker) was booked to perform the event, arriving that weekend in a beat up rental RV with an entourage of close friends.
Pamela was already a force to be reckoned with in the LA electronic music scene, as the producer of a well known event series, a record label owner, an established promoter, and artist manager. She attended the event in Julian to support her fellow event producer - but neither she nor Tanner knew the significance of that weekend at the time.
Tanner knew who Pamela was before that weekend, and had even attended one of her events months before - in his eyes, she was out of his league - a celebrity even. Recognizing her immediately in the crowd that weekend in Julian, he saw his opportunity to ‘shoot his shot’ and finally introduce himself. Gathering up every ounce of courage within his being, he approached the gorgeous Pamela (who outshined all others around them in her glorious red fur coat) and made his move. The exact words Tanner said may be lost in the heat of that fateful night, but whatever they were, they were the right ones - and a beautiful journey of love and partnership was set in perpetual motion.
Pamela and Tanner’s bond was born from a shared love of house music - their early days were filled with countless Dance Armstrong DJ sets, festival attendances, and late nights in the studio fueled by their burning creative passion. Tanner soon taught pam the art of DJing, and the two formed a dynamic duo crowned Royal Crush. Pam and Tanner loved to dress up in matching creative outfits at events - the King and Queen of Hearts was a fan favorite, that then became the central theme of our Royal Crush brand. Royal Crush fostered many unforgettable memories, from performing at festivals out of state, as well as major nightclubs in LA.
While music was at the genesis of the Pam and Tanner story, their tale only expanded from there. Tanner continued to advance in his ‘day job’ career as a successful Sales Engineer and Regional Manager, as Pam expanded into her Life Coaching practice, where she has positively impacted the lives of many. Most excitingly, Pam and Tanner started a new business together in late 2024 - My Happy Place Stays is a flourishing short term rental company that has onboarded 6 properties in Manhattan Beach and Lake Havasu, AZ, with further expansion on the horizon.
Most importantly, none of this would have been possible without Pam and Tanner’s unfaltering support and dedication to each other. As a textbook case of ‘’Yin and Yang’’, their strengths and weaknesses balance each other serendipitously. Pamela is the fearless one - the dreamer, the risk taker, the entrepreneurial flame, whose lofty goals are challenged only by organization and time management. Tanner is the solid foundation - the thinker, the planner, the charismatic negotiator, the risk manager and conflict resolutionist, slowed only by a tendency to worry and overthink. They are each the other’s best coach, mentor, and voice of reason - an unstoppable force to be reckoned with. Above all else, their strongest bond is in their shared sense of humor - a day doesn’t pass without a deep belly laugh on the brink of tears - whether it’s something silly one of their dogs did, a flawed yet hilarious impression of someone we know, or a ridiculous celebratory dance when anything good happens, no matter how small. They find great joy and solace in knowing there will never be a dull moment in their lives as long as they are together - forever moving forward.
When Pam and Tanner aren’t busy conquering the world, they cherish a nice dinner out on the town, or even better, enjoying a delicious takeout meal from the couch. Another favorite pastime is taking their 2 beautiful daughters (two ~20lb miniature dachshunds) for walks off-leash on the beautiful LMU campus in their neighborhood. They treat Lily and Farrah as their children, and as training grounds for the human children they plan to have one day, who they will love just as fiercely.
Tanner proposed to Pamela on the top of a rock formation towering over the amazonian jungle called Guatapé, outside of Medellín, Colombia. The ‘’surprise’’ engagement trip was under the guise of a group friend trip to the wonderful city of Medellín, which Tanner promised to take Pam to one day in the early days of their relationship. They were blessed to spend their special proposal moment surrounded by the love and support of some of their closest friends.
A grand engagement could only be followed by an even grander wedding experience - one that won’t be possible without YOU. We can’t wait to share this unforgettable experience with all of you in December!!
